Diud’chi:
To most races, humanity in particular, the diud’chi seem very strange. They should be run that way.

First, only one in twenty diud’chi are male, the rest are female. They look similar to diud in that they have a velvety gray fur, but they are very tall standing at nearly seven feet most of the time. A 6’2” diud’chi would be considered short by her peers.

As the males and females despise each other, diud’chi encounters will only involve female diud’chi.

Second, diud’chi are telepathic and, to a limited extent, empathic with each other to a range equaling their intelligence X 10 in meters. Diud’chi virtually never speak, their emotions are very subdued, and privacy is a strange and unknown concept for them.

Thirdly, the concept of ownership is almost completely foreign to the diud’chi. Thus, diud’chi are not huge collectors of things like many other races are. They normally have no more things that they are using during that time. Diud’chi freely part with things they aren’t using or that they have no use for anymore. They are very spartan in this regard.

Fourth, diud’chi emotions being what they are, diud’chi are incapable of being afraid. You can’t scare them, as they lack the emotion completely. If you stick a pistol in a diud’chi’s face and threaten to kill her, it’s not that she doesn’t believe you. She is simply incapable of being afraid. For this reason, all female diud’chi have a Courage Die of 1d20.

Finally, diud’chi do not view other races as people. They see them as being lesser creatures, to be used as needed. The diud’chi will normally neither help nor hinder members of other races for any reason. Money is worth less to a diud’chi than it is to any other race in the galaxy.

Diud’chi can live for a long time. Their natural life span is 1,300 years, but their technology is capable of rejuvenating them indefinitely. They can go on for hundreds of thousands of years. Interestingly, diud’chi can also shut down whenever they feel like it. With a little bit of concentration, a diud’chi can elect to silence her own heartbeat, thus ending a life that she finds has no further meaning. For the diud’chi, suicide is no big deal.

Diud’chi are incapable of physical violence as they don’t understand the concept. You can’t even teach them.

The most striking thing about diud’chi is their technology. The Technological Classification of the Diud’chi Bureaucracy is “E”. They have transporters and energized force field defensive systems aboard their ships.

Diud’chi are very sedate and their motivations are more complicated and far-reaching. Hatred, greed, and lust for power are never part of the equation, however. Mostly, diud’chi are involved in exploration and research 95% of the time.

Average diud’chi are not qualified to be starship crew. They can be involved in other things, or be on their way to somewhere else, however. For this reason, we’ll list the stats for an average diud’chi, as well as those for a starship’s crew.

In addition to advanced weapons, diud’chi civilian clothing provides 1d4 armor protection. The CC4Z gauss rifle has electronic sights. Any hit location zeroed out by the LN30 phazer pistol is vaporized.
