Vagarin are short aliens evolved of scavengers. They have long, shaggy, golden-tan fur, long bushy tails, and golden-yellow eyes. They seem to have short tempers, but this is mostly bluff. As vagarin have a pack-oriented scavenger mentality, they will normally always try to frighten someone into giving them what they want first. Vagarin are motivated by greed and a lust for more and better stuff, especially money and high-tech equipment

The reasons for this are many, but boil down to a vagarin’s social structure and his standing within that structure. Basically, the more stuff a vagarin has, the higher his standing within his family. The more stuff his family has, the higher their standing in their House. The more stuff their house has, the higher their standing within their Clan. Clan is the highest social division in vagarin society. As a Clan is made up of many Houses, and Houses are made up of many Families, and these Families can be spread all over the place, there are no nations, countries or borders in vagarin space. The bickering and wrangling between the various Clans make up the total of vagarin politics, and vagarin are intensely loyal to their families,
